The Suffering Spirit

Across the water on Wolfe Island stands an old house that has been in the possession of the Catholic Church for years and years. The current owners have kept the imposing widow’s walk and the crucifix that stands atop the vaulted roof. Surrounded by three graveyards, this place one of the most frightening episodes. Nuns, animals and the former priest fill the house with noises and nightmares. The Most Reverend occupant is torn between his previous world of extremes and his attachment to the Church. The Rescue Mediums use holy water, the rosary and a wooden cross to help his tortured spirit find its final salvation.

A Ghostly Return

The birthplace of the world’s oil industry is the target for this episode. A stunning Victorian house is home to more than just the human occupants. The spirit of the Grey Lady has been seen at the top of the stairs by many, many people. The basement holds a malevolent force that the Rescue Mediums must show into the light. In the home’s music room, the piano is often played by an older music teacher. Quite old, in fact…about 146 years old! Jackie and Christine confront the ghost in the basement, but they will miscalculate its strength. The show culminates in a very unexpected twist!

Unraveling the Mystery

This episode takes place in a majestic mansion located in Jackson’s Point on the south shore of Lake Simcoe. The current owners have felt uneasiness in the basement and on the grounds. Contractors report having actually witnessed a ghost manifestation. The Rescue Mediums use their powers to uncover several interesting facts. A prominent businessman, now in the Netherworld, haunts the home. An earlier settler from 200 years ago also comes into play, along with an Indian burial ground. Jackie and Christine get to the bottom of the mystery with some astounding results.

Possession

A small home in a big city suburb is resident to terrifying, almost demonic, spirits. Or is it? In this exciting episode, the Rescue Mediums uncover layers surrounding the haunting that point to the owner being the source of the psychic disturbances. The female owner and her family have experienced powerful energies that have caused hospital visits and sleepless nights. Eventually, Jackie and Christine come face-to-face with the entity and it takes hold in a manner that no-one could have predicted!

The Top of the Stairs

A tragic accident in a threshing machine caused a spirit to haunt a small home in the beautiful town of St. Mary’s. The young man lost his leg and was entangled in the farm equipment for over four hours. But other ghosts have been seen and felt in the house as well. One of the homeowners has been physically pushed from the couch and felt a presence on the stairs. The young daughter has seen a frightening apparition floating above her bed and her mother has been awoken in the night by the staring figure of a young child at the side of HER bed. The Rescue Mediums lift the heaviness from the home and help the spirits find rest…and they leave the friendly spirit of a protective presence at the top of the stairs to keep the homeowners safe.

The Happy Haunting

In beautiful, historic Kingston, Ontario, the Secret Garden bed and breakfast holds more secrets than it first appears. This four-storey turn of the century mansion hides the spirits of a little girl, a woman and an ailing man. Ghosts have appeared to guests on a consistent basis and reports abound from the previous owners of mysterious happenings…tinkling glasses, apparitions, voices and objects moving of their own accord. The Rescue Mediums calm the lost souls and find a gentler aspect to the home.

The Colonel’s Portrait

Proudly displayed on the wall of this Port Hope house is the portrait of a brave Colonel from years gone by…but, is it really him? The homeowner has a far different idea of the painting’s identity than the Rescue Mediums. Several rooms seem to carry his spirit and he was once startled (in spirit form) by an earthly visitor. His response? Apparently he looked up and walked right through her! The grounds of this house, named “Hill and Dale”, also hold a secret…a hanging in the old Greenhouse and a horse buried standing upright.

Lions, Tigers and Birdhouses

A 130-year old home that survived town fires is the subject of this episode. In Bervie, Ontario, the Rescue Mediums come up against ghosts and very unlikely animals. A roaring lion that lives across the street and a birdhouse of gargantuan proportions. The homeowner herself is psychic and she teams up with Christine and Jackie to unravel a spirit mystery in her house. Ghostly footsteps and poltergeist activity envelope the home and these disturbances are finally laid to rest. But a more compelling story evolves as the Rescue Mediums ply their trade. They are contacted by the spirit of a missing girl from 14 years ago in the area.

A River Runs Through It

In fact, it is the confluence of five underground rivers that flow into the Scugog, a lake that has been revered by the native population for many years. This home, surrounded by a small farming community and overlooking the lake, is haunted by at least three spirits. Many people have told of a presence that brushes by them in the night and the feeling of a little girl who stands by the window of an upstairs bedroom. In times past, the house was used to lay out the bodies of dead family members as they awaited burial. Now, the home’s secrets are unlocked by the Rescue Mediums.

Is There A Doctor In The House?

Collingwood, Ontario is both a summer and a winter retreat and holiday destination for thousands of vacationers. It is also home to the stunning Beildhouse, a bed and breakfast that was once owned by a prosperous physician who fell deathly ill himself. He frequently appears in the home in a state of confusion and the Rescue Mediums will help him move forward into the light. There is also the ghost of his younger daughter who lived out her remaining years in the home on the third floor. While at the home, Jackie and Christine venture to the local theatre…not to see a play, but to make an acquaintance with a certain female who stars there after dark!

Searching For Rhonda

An unassuming home on the East Coast harbours several spirits in this surprising episode. Jackie and Christine indentify several family members of the homeowners who have passed over in to the spirit world. The home’s occupants have seen manifestations on their walls and in glass doors and have actually taken a photograph of what appears to be a ghostly soldier standing outside their home. But a far more significant spirit visits the Rescue Mediums. The spirit of Rhonda Wilson. Rhonda went missing from her Kentville home 31/2 years ago and has never been found. Police are now considering that the woman was murdered. Jackie and Christine become very connected and seem to be receiving messages from beyond the grave. They create a psychic drawing of her murderer and visit a location, covered in snow, where they believe her body is buried. As a result of these actions, the police have agreed to perform a groundsearch of the area as soon as the earth thaws in the coming Spring.

Exit Laughing

This delightful episode is full of humour and good feelings. Both the Rescue Mediums and the homeowners enjoy several jokes – sometimes at the expense of a local ghost! Jackie and Christine arrive on the prow of a Lobster Fishing boat to investigate this haunting. “There is a strange foreboding in the sea; it crashes hard against the heart and awakens memories of shipwrecked dreams.” The house has been home to a small child who drowned many years ago and his anguished mother who has searched the spirit world for her son. The Rescue Mediums also get in touch with a part of Canadian history that was completely unexpected – the story of Champlain and the Acadians.

Love Lost and Found

Overlooking Darling Lake is a huge mansion built by Aaron Churchill as a summer home for his family. Travelers on the road have seen the ghostly apparition of a woman moving towards the mansion from the water. The locals have dubbed her “The Lady of the Lake.” A beautiful, yet strangely sad, portrait of Lotti Churchill has mysterious power over all who gaze upon her. She lived in the home for many years and, it is said, murdered someone in one of the bedrooms. She haunts there still. Nearby, the ground is home to the bones of all the Churchill’s in that area and Jackie is overshadowed by the forceful spirit of Aaron in the graveyard itself. The homeowner is the continuing custodian of the ghosts and the property in the fine tradition of those that have gone before. The Rescue Mediums tackle many, many challenges here and find deep layers of love, caring, commitment…and danger.

Last Call

Located in Barrie, Ontario, the opera house was the first of its kind in the city. Over 100 years old, it has since been converted into a popular nightclub. Since then, employees have seen and felt a mysterious presence and experienced physical manifestations, ranging from friendly and innocent to mischievous and insistent. The building has recently been slated for city expropriation and will be demolished before the year is up, and the nightclub employees are anxious to assist the spirits they have been peacefully sharing their space with for the past three and a half years, rather than leaving them to an unknown fate. This is truly a story that tugs at the heart.

Suburban Spirits

Since 1997, strange happenings have been occurring in this beautiful, antique-filled suburban home. The owners and their children have been bothered by poltergeist activity and phantoms that hover in the air. Their two dogs become agitated on a weekly basis and often stare off into space for hours on end. The kitchen radio spews static, even when it is completely unplugged. An invisible entity has been letting the dogs in and out of the home and can occasionally be heard walking up the stairs. They have asked for the Rescue Mediums to help rid them of these bothersome ghosts.

Mystery and Mythology

This building, believed to have been erected in the 1920s, has since been renovated into a series of smaller apartments, some of which still retain their original gas fireplaces and Kelvinator ice boxes, long warm. Residents have seen floating lights and overheard heated discussions emanating from thin air. Pets often behave inexplicably and visitors often encounter cold spots despite the controlled temperature. One resident has experienced physical pain that may be connected to a mysterious woodcarving. Is it merely a playful spirit? Or does something sinister lurk behind closed doors?

Trick or Treat

Located in the heart of Ontario’s stunning wine country, this unusual home has on-going activity of the ghostly kind and a skeptical male homeowner. His wife and children have been touched by ghosts and the youngest is often afraid to go to sleep at night. Visitors to the home have also experienced paranormal activity and the occupants need a resolution fast. And, to complicate matters, it is All Hallow’s Eve… and the ghosts and goblins in this home are real.

Dead In His Tracks

A comfortable home adjacent to the railway tracks in this rural town has a strange and possibly sinister history. Long ago a man walked hundreds of miles from the city of Montreal along the railway tracks to escape his fate…a fate of retribution and revenge. He was murdered, a drifter, on these tracks and haunts them still. Inside the house, the homeowner has captured spirit activity on her own video camera. And she has found a protective spirit…a child that has passed over and acts as her spirit guide.

Chasing Ghosts

This mansion, built in 1896 for Sir William Mackenzie and his wife Margaret, has ghosts in every nook and cranny. While filming this episode there was a complete power outage in the area and a tree split and crashed down upon the gable of the home just outside where the Rescue Mediums and the crew were eating. Such a thing had happened before…the home had gone through many transitions, including 50 years as a convent school. The spirits of the nuns and some of the orphaned children may still roam the hallways. A frightened spirit who is pursued by the Rescue Mediums and the ghost of a hanged man also lurk in the shadows of this magnificent mansion.

Disturbing the Spirits

A road leading to a new subdivision of family homes has been widened and has disturbed the resting ground of many spirits. This young family have experienced all manner of visitations…shadows, noises, movements and having their names called out loud by an invisible presence. Strong vibrations emanate from the ground and move across the entire area. A small church had been demolished and the spirit of a local physician and the children in his care make themselves known and cry out for help.

A Garden of Graves

Sharing a property line with a local cemetery, this century home in scenic Palgrave, is home to the final resting place of an indistinguishable amount of souls. The homeowners have experienced a wide scale of spiritual activity, but none have been affected so much as the children, who have become afraid of their own toys. Struggling to reconcile their own skepticism with the inexplicable events they have experienced, the homeowners have called in the Rescue Mediums to shed some psychic light on the situation -to rescue this haunted house, and make it a home once more.

Left Them to the Drowning

Atop a hill overlooking the scenic islands and waters of Rice Lake sits the Aye Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast. The mysterious spirit of a man roams the land and the home along with wisps of a departed relative…one who has been known to pluck the strings of a violin mounted upon the wall. But many are attracted to this house. Rice Lake is one of the more dangerous waters in the area for drowning as the reeds and weeds can hold a body under for a long time…now, some of those spirits have been finally released.

Days of Future Past

Behind the sterile facades of this sprawling Mount Albert home hide decayed monuments to both days of glory and of despair. Formerly a retirement home and a centre for troubled youths, this building still echoes with tremendous sadness and madness. Two psychic sisters unwittingly came into this property through a strange twist of events and now seek to restore the spectacular home to its original prestigious state… but will the spirits trapped within these false walls help or hinder them?

Drawing a Ghostly Conclusion

Thomas Jackson built this house with his bare hands over 100 years ago. The current owners believe he is still there. After falling into a state of severe decay during a period of economic strife and illness, this picturesque century home stood empty and rotting for a number of years. A gallery owner has since shouldered the responsibility of repairing and renovating the building, and returning it to a habitable state. Now fully restored, the historic Thomas Jackson house serves as both an art gallery and domicile. And yet, visitors frequently encounter cold spots. Doors lock, and artwork moves of its own accord. Shouldn’t Thomas be happy that his pride and joy was saved from disrepair? Perhaps he feels as though there is something left to say… or maybe he just thinks that painting would look better above the fireplace instead.

Suffer the Children

This house in a relatively new sub-division is home to a young family with three wonderful kids. But the parents are worried. The middle child has seen the shadow of a spirit in her room…a spirit that goes by the name of Mr. Jenkins. The oldest child has seen things move quickly past and is frightened to play in his room upstairs. Mum and Dad have also experienced strange goings-on in the home and, at one point, wanted to sell it even though they had only been there a short time. This home may be a portal for spirit activity…the Rescue Mediums must help the spirits in order to help the children.

Something wrong near Lake Chemong

On the shores of Lake Chemong lies the community called Bridgenorth. A young couple have always hoped to enjoy their first home…but spirits from the land and the home have disturbed their sleeping and waking moments. The Rescue Mediums find more than they bargained for. Native spirits seem to be angry and the land needs to be cleansed. In an intense emotional moment, Jackie and Christine also connect the spirit of the homeowner’s best friend who tragically died in an automobile crash. The Rescue Mediums also help an elderly lady, who was very confused and in pain, to cross over into the light.

Marching into the Light

The homeowner’s children have seen a man dressed in full First World War military kit marching up and down their upstairs corridor. Passers-by have remarked on the figure that sits in the upstairs window and looks out onto the street. Cigar smoke and noises and shadows have been smelt, heard and seen throughout the home. The Rescue Mediums help the soldier into the light so he can join his old battalion. The family and this hundred-year-old home are put back in order.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

One of the homeowner’s is a strong man of Scottish descent, slightly skeptical and usually able to hold his own in any circumstances…but he keeps nightlights on in every electrical socket in every room. He is warding off something and the Rescue Mediums have to find out what it is. They contact two spirits in the home, one of which seems to be trapped in a single moment of their life and is repeating it over and over again. The rescue is powerful as the spirit crosses over into freedom. Perhaps the homeowner might now be able to save some electricity by dousing his nightlights!

Making Amends

An old history unfolds in this seaside town. The Loyalist Inn is home to several guests and many spirits…among them a man who left the army and was promised land for his service. The land never came. This was something that happened far too often to black Loyalists at the turn of the last century. The Rescue Mediums help him to finally be released and they show him into the light. The Inn itself has a long and checkered history and other spirits come to the fore as the investigation progresses.

Pulling a Few Strings

The icy waters of the North Atlantic surround this portside town and the Rescue Mediums get much more than they bargained for, once again! A long-dead family member of the homeowner comes to help in the rescue and a puppet has a spirit attachment…one that Jackie and Christine are finally able to resolve. The house is a normal, subdivision-style home and proves that places do not have to be old to be haunted!

Ladies of the Night

The city of Halifax has been a temporary home to sailors from around the world for hundreds of years. Sometimes, with sailors, other industries crop up when they take their shore leave. Often industries run by females. This looks to be the long-past history of this old Halifax home! But something far more frightening is also happening…a spirit of a young girl who was killed on her way to school during the Great Halifax explosion. She is lost and needs help in crossing over.

Ghostly Attachment

Near the banks of a fast-flowing river, this modest home has nearly all of its human occupants awake at night. Shadows and bumps and loud conversations are the norm. The daughter has been whispered at and her hair touched while she lay asleep in her bed. The son, while studying for exams, has seen figures quickly pass by the computer room and heard ghostly discussions. And the parents have felt an otherworldly presence in the home. As the Rescue Mediums investigate, they find that one of the family members brought a spirit home with them from a graveside visit…and the spirit feels like staying!

Ghostly Attachment

The walls of a museum and the town’s archives hold a history of adventure and of sadness. In Bowmanville, these two buildings stand adjacent to one another. The staff in both structures has had uneasy feelings and, in one case, has dubbed one of the spirits the “Angry Man.” Jackie and Christine find the “Angry Man” and the spirit of a little girl who plays in the museum. The man turns out not to be angry but concerned for the welfare of his beautiful musical organs. The Rescue Mediums manage to lift the heavy feelings from both buildings and permit the staff to have better days.

Heavy Metal

This old stone home sits on a quiet suburban street. Not much unusual here…except that the sinkhole in the garden contains a ribcage, giant chandeliers move of their own accord, screams and banging’s emanate from inside the walls and bats frequently fly around the interior! The Rescue Mediums have their spiritual hands full here. As the investigation progresses, Jackie and Christine discover that an ancient spirit has attached him or herself to the owner…a master in mediaeval metal artwork.

Religious Evictions

In the urban core of Toronto, there stands an old mansion of dramatic proportion. Surrounded by fishponds, lush trees and extensive grounds, this heritage home gives the impression of tranquility throughout the ages. But the Reverand and his wife who now own the house tell a different tale – one of rat infestations, “ghost” bumps, a hidden chapel and the feeling of being forced out of their own home. An irate male presence – also a man of the cloth – does not approve of the renovations and religious conversions within his former residence and he is determined to evict the current owners! The Rescue Mediums must resort to religious readings to calm this angered spirit and with the help of a female presence, show him into the light.

The Art of Spirit

The homeowner in this quaint house lives alone. Or at least she thought she did. The Rescue Mediums are called to help with shadows and noises that have scared, not only the homeowner, but her friends and family. In some cases, friends are so frightened that they cannot stay over anymore. The homeowner is an avid and accomplished artists…her original paintings adorn nearly every room. Some are very, very dark. Jackie and Christine believe that a heavy spirit may have attached itself to the homeowner and her paintings. They have to change the imagery – in a psychic sense – to help the wayward spirit cross over.

Light Work and a Heavy Heart

In the township of Caledon, we meet a massage therapist who complains of relentless otherworldly activity within her home. Doors slam, voices chatter and the sweet smell of wood-smoke fills the air. A child’s gravestone has been uncovered on the property and the spirit of a little girl skips around the house. The Rescue Mediums meet a mysterious spirit lightworker and a tormented female presence who sobs and searches for her lost little girl. It is the anniversary of her child’s death and emotions run high as Jackie and Christine reunite mother and daughter in the light.
